Dampier Transit Caravan Park – WA

Dampier is home to the Red Dog Statue from the famous Aussie movie. As we were passing Dampier I had to check it out.

The Transit Caravan park was the cheapest park in the area. It is also in a good location, right opposite the water. Some may think it's not the best view or the best park but for that area it was great.

The park is small but friendly. We were behind two other vans but still had glimpses of the water.

You have a choice of 4 electric BBQ's one of which looks like it has a place to heat pans.

They have a camp kitchen which also houses the washing machine. Toilets and showers are also in this area as well as the dump point.

In the office you will find a helpful manager. Also a book exchange and souvenirs of the area. Head over the road at sunset for a lovely view.

Drive to Karratha

We had a 20 minute drive to Karratha and headed to Harvey Norman for some bits we needed. The place isn’t as big as I had imagined but does have several of your common shops that small towns usually have. We grabbed some KFC and headed back to Dampier stopping at Red Dog to check it out and eat.
