Waverley Creek Rest Area – Queensland

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

Waverley Creek is a 20hr Free Camp, 11 km south of St Lawrence on the Bruce Highway.

This is basically a large central grass area surrounded by parking spots. Large rigs will fit if you get there early enough to get a space.

We arrived at around 11am and people had already arrived for the night. Some however had just stopped for a break and drove off not long after. If your trying to find a spot and it’s full, look out for those that are not set up yet. Windows closed, no chairs out etc. They might be leaving soon.

Waverley Creek is next to the highway but we found it quiet at night. Two lots of male and female toilets are available and a lot of undercover seating is available. A couple of rainwater tanks and taps are around the place if you want to rinse dishes. Lots of bins and skip bins are around the place which is always hand.

This is a very basic, busy, clean free camp that’s worth stopping is you get in early.
